Human Services Advisory Commission

Established by Resolution 03-97 and amended by Resolution 05-01, the Human Services Advisory Commission advises the Mayor and Council on human service needs in Rockville. The commission monitors changes in human service needs, assists the Mayor and Council in deciding appropriate city roles and priorities concerning human services, and participates in oversight and evaluation to ensure accountability and cost-effectiveness of city and outside providers of human services. The commission may also study specific problems and complaints at the request of the Mayor and Council.

Members

The Human Services Advisory Commission consists of 11 members appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the council. Members serve overlapping three-year terms and represent social service consumers, service providers, and residents of the Rockville community. Six members are at-large representatives, two are consumer representatives, and three are caregiver representatives.
