Asian Pacific American Task Force

Established by the Mayor and Council in May 2008, the Asian Pacific American Task Force fosters communication between the Asian-American community and city government. It raises awareness of community needs, provides resources, educates the public on Asian-American contributions, and engages local businesses and residents in city activities.

Programs and services are offered throughout the year, including cultural events, festivals, and forums on financial, legal, and immigration issues. The task force also supports the annual Maryland Asian American Business Conference.

To help non-English-speaking residents access city services and understand city projects, the task force offers translation and interpretation services, such as for service fairs, refuse and recycling demonstrations, voter registration, elections, and mediation sessions.
