Go Behind the Badge with the Citizens Police Academy

10-Week Course Includes Firearms Training Simulations
The 2016 class of the Rockville Citizens Police Academy.

Community members once again this spring have the opportunity to learn what it takes to be a police officer through the Rockville Citizens Police Academy.

Participants 18 and older will learn about all aspects of the police department, receive hands-on training and earn a graduation certificate upon course completion. The Rockville City Police Department is accepting applications for the free, 10-week course, which will be held in March, April and May at a time and place to be determined.

Topics will include:

  • Crime scene processing.
  • Firearms training simulations.
  • K-9 unit demonstrations.
  • Traffic law.
  • Detectives and investigations.
  • Bomb unit.
