‘Emancipation to Integration’ Series Continues

Peerless Rockville celebrates Earth Month with a tour of the Pepco WaterShed Sustainability Center and continues its “Emancipation to Integration” series with events throughout April.

The WaterShed, at 201 West Gude Drive, is a solar-powered home that harvests, recycles and reuses water while educating visitors with energy-saving ideas they can apply in their own home, from native-plant landscaping to high-efficiency HVAC systems. The free tour will be 10-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 8. Space is limited. Registration is required. Peerless’s “Emancipation to Integration” series continues this month with:

  • Thurgood Marshall & William Gibbs: Civil Rights in Rockville at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 1, at the Red Brick Courthouse, 29 Courthouse Square.
  • A screening of Aviva Kempner’s “Rosenwald” at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19 in the Crockett Theater, Room 3241, Building III, at the Universities at Shady Grove, 9630 Gudelsky Drive. Tickets are $5 (free to USG students) and available at https://goo.gl/w7C6Qy.
  • Remembering the Carver Years at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, April 21 at the Carver Educational Services Center auditorium, 850 Hungerford Drive.
