Landlord-Tenant Code Update Moves Forward

Rockville’s Department of Housing and Community Development is continuing work on updating the city’s landlord-tenant code.

A draft of the updated code is expected to be released in early fall, followed by work sessions with the Mayor and Council.

In May, the city hosted virtual listening sessions with landlords and tenants to gather feedback. This summer, more than 1,000 tenants were contacted directly through door-to-door outreach to discuss housing-related concerns. These conversations will help inform the drafting process.
