August 27, 2025
The Rockville City Police Department invites the community to its 2025 open house, a free, family-friendly event offering residents a behind-the-scenes look at their local police department.

The open house is scheduled for 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 6, at the RCPD station at 2 W. Montgomery Ave. In the event of inclement weather, the event will be rescheduled for the same time Sunday, Sept. 14. Parking will be available in nearby city garages, with free parking two blocks away at City Hall, 111 Maryland Ave. Staff will be on-site to direct visitors. No registration is necessary.
Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the police station, explore marked police vehicles and enjoy interactive displays showcasing the many tools and resources officers use in their daily duties. Highlights include:
- K-9 team demonstrations.
- A display of RCPD motorcycles and an opportunity to meet the officers who ride them.
- A community services booth with free giveaways and the opportunity to learn about community programs.
- A police equipment hands-on station offering a feel for some of the equipment officers use to keep Rockville safe.
- Photo opportunities with officers and police vehicles.
“We’re proud to open our doors to the Rockville community,” Chief Jason West said. “This is a great chance for residents of all ages to learn more about the department, interact with our officers, and strengthen the partnership between police and the community.”
