Free Trees, If You Please

Rockville’s annual Fall Tree Giveaway opens for online registration at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2.
To register, visit rockvillemd.gov/treegiveaway. Registrants will be able to pick up their trees from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 27, at the Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive.
Here’s what you need to know:
- Trees will be available to City of Rockville residents only.
- Preregistration is required.
- Limit one tree per household.
- Six species are expected to be available. This list is subject to change based on nursery availability and species preferences cannot be guaranteed:
- Buttonbush (Cephalanthus occidentalis).
- Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis).
- Northern spicebush (Lindera benzoin).
- Sweetbay magnolia (Magnolia virginiana).
- Red oak (Quercus rubra).
- Black gum (Nyssa sylvatica).
