Goodbye, Senior Citizens Commission; Hello, Commission on Aging

The Rockville Senior Citizens Commission has officially changed its name to the Rockville Commission on Aging. 

The new name was designed to better reflect the evolving needs of older adults in the community and align with terminology used in the region. 

The updated name promotes a more inclusive and welcoming image, while also reinforcing the commission’s expanded mission to advocate for all aging residents. 

The public is invited to attend hybrid commission meetings, held on the third Thursday of each month. For more information, visit rockvillemd.gov/commission_on_aging.
