Speaker Series at Glenview Mansion: Lives Beyond the White House

Peerless Rockville and Glenview Mansion will present a free talk on the untold stories of Civil War-era residents in and around the District of Columbia. 

At 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 11, U.S. Park Ranger Bryan A. Cheeseboro will present “Outside of Lincoln’s White House: Civil War Era Men and Women of the District of Columbia, Maryland and Virginia.” 

The lecture brings attention to the overlooked lives of civilians — Black and white, free and enslaved, Union and Confederate — who lived in Washington and its surrounding communities during the Civil War.
