Events to Get You Walking, Biking and Rolling ’Round Rockville This Month
September 30, 2025

October brings events focused on getting around in Rockville on foot and on wheels.
The annual Carl Henn Memorial Bike Ride pedals off at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4 from Thomas Farm Community Center, 700 Fallsgrove Drive. This casual 13-mile neighborhood ride is in honor of the longtime Rockville resident and community activist who died in July 2010. Riders must be at least 15 years old. No one will be left behind. Learn more at rockvillemd.gov/rbac.
Meanwhile, the city is installing new bicycle repair racks this fall along the Carl Henn Millennium Trail, at Rockcrest Park in Twinbrook and Crooked Creek Drive in King Farm. Learn more about the racks at bit.ly/BikeRepairRack.
Rockville celebrates “Walktober” with a Neighborhood Walk and Roll on Thursday, Oct. 16. Meet at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Crawford Drive and Wade Avenue near the entrance to Hillcrest Park. Join members of the Rockville Pedestrian Advocacy Committee, city staff and elected officials to walk, roll and learn about pedestrian initiatives, city projects and the city’s Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. Until then, learn more about Vision Zero at rockvillemd.gov/visionzero. The walk and roll route is just under 1 mile.
RPAC hosts a candlelight vigil to remember traffic victims at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at the front entrance of Rockville City Hall.
Looking for a fun, unstructured way to celebrate Walktober? Find a Pedestrian Bingo card on RPAC’s webpage at rockvillemd.gov/rpac. Download the card, print it out and take to the sidewalk. Take as many trips as possible to fill the card as you experience the Rockville pedestrian environment, completing activities such as walking to a city park, taking transit or searching for a neighborhood that’s missing a sidewalk.
