A new informational sign has been installed at the Labyrinth and Flame of Hope in Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park and Peace Garden to enhance the visitor experience and provide helpful guidance about the labyrinth’s meaning.
The labyrinth offers “an opportunity to quiet the mind and find balance while walking the path.” The 26-acre park was dedicated in 2008 in memory of Mattie J.T. Stepanek, a poet and peace activist who rose to national prominence before his death, aged 13.
