Christmas and New Year’s Closures in Rockville

 City government and all city facilities will be closed Thursday, Dec. 25 for Christmas, and Thursday, Jan. 1 for New Year’s. 

In addition, City Hall will close from 10 a.m-2:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 11 for an employee recognition event. 

During the Christmas and New Year’s holiday weeks, recycling, trash and yard waste will occur Monday through Wednesday as scheduled. Thursday collections will be made one day later than usual. For more information, visit rockvillemd.gov/recycling-trash or call 240-314-8568. 

Parking will be free at city-owned meters on Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. 

The Rockville Senior Center and fitness room, Glenview Mansion, and the Rockville Civic Center business office be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1, as will the F. Scott Fitzgerald Theatre box office. Theater tickets are always available for purchase at fscottfitzgerald.showare.com

Several facilities will offer limited holiday hours: 

The Rockville Senior Center and fitness room will close at 4 p.m. Wednesdays, Dec. 24 and 31. 

Thomas Farm and Twinbrook community centers will be open 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Dec. 24 and 31; and 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 26. (Lincoln Park Community Center is closed for renovations. Visit rockvillemd.gov/lpcc for details.) 

Croydon Creek Nature Center and will be open 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Dec. 24, 26 and 31. 

The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center will be open with limited hours and services on Dec. 24 and 31. Visit rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for details. 

The Rockville Skate Park will be closed Dec. 24.
