The annual celebration will be held from 1-3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21, at Richard Montgomery High School, 250 Richard Montgomery Drive. Multicultural performances will be presented from 1:30-3:30 p.m. The celebration will also include interactive displays, crafts for kids and to-go snack boxes, while supplies last. Admission is free.

In its 18th year, the Lunar New Year celebration is a source of pride for the city’s Asian community and an opportunity for neighbors to learn about Asian culture. The city is organizing the celebration in partnership with Rockville’s Asian Pacific American Task Force. The celebration will mark the Year of the Horse on the Chinese Zodiac calendar.

Local nonprofit 501(c) organizations may apply to host a display table at the celebration. Applications must be submitted by Friday, Jan. 30. Learn more in the community group application form at rockvillemd.gov/lunarnewyear
