A stone and wood building with illuminated lights is surrounded by bare trees and fallen leaves at dusk.

“Croydon Creek Nature Center: Past, Present, and Future” will be held from 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, at Glenview Mansion, 603 Edmonston Drive. Croydon Creek Nature Center supervisor Melinda Norton will present a behind-the-scenes look at the center, including how it began, the philosophy that guides its work and its plans moving forward.

Since opening on Earth Day in 2001, the center has served as a resource for families, students and others interested in learning about the natural environment. The program will explore the center’s early development, its educational mission and the goals that continue to shape its role in connecting people with nature.

Space is limited. Registration is required and available at peerlessrockville.org or with course #36327 at rockvillemd.gov/registration.
