Free, Reconditioned Bikes for TERRIFIC Kids Who Do Good Deeds
January 2, 2026
Rockville has outstanding kids, and every TERRIFIC kid needs a bike.
How do you prove you’re TERRIFIC? Show trustworthiness, earnestness, respect, responsibility, involvement, fairness, industriousness and care.
The TERRIFIC Challenge is a program that provides free, refurbished bicycles and helmets to Rockville residents in grades 1-5 who complete six out of 16 good deeds. Examples include volunteering at a local charity, helping a neighbor or keeping a clean school environment.
Registration for the 2026 program opens Tuesday, Jan. 20. Registration is due Tuesday, Feb. 17. Additional information will be sent by email Monday, March 2.
Due to the limited number of bicycles, preregistration is required. Participants who are selected will receive instructions on how to track and submit completed good deeds.
For questions or more information, call 240-314-8620 or email registration@rockvillemd.gov. Information is also available at rockvillemd.gov/terrificbikes. The program also accepts bicycle donations. Donated bicycles are refurbished and awarded to participants. To donate a bicycle, contact Rockville Bike Hub at rockvillebikehub@gmail.com. Visit rockvillebikehub.org for information.
