‘Past to Promise’ Mural to be Dedicated at Twinbrook Community Recreation Center

February 3, 2026

A mural on a brick wall depicts a young girl, an older man, and a woman holding flowers, with a pond, fields, houses, and butterflies in the background.

Rockville will dedicate Twinbrook’s “Past to Promise” mural during a public event at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18 at the Twinbrook Community Recreation Center.

The dedication will be held in the center’s multipurpose room, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway. Community members are invited to attend.

Leaders of the Twinbrook Community Association will be joined by volunteers from the Artist Nomination Committee, which selected mural artist LaToya Peoples. Members of the Cultural Arts Commission, city staff who supported the project and members of the Mayor and Council are also expected to attend.

“Past to Promise” was funded by Rockville’s Art in Public Places Program. The mural reflects community history and shared aspirations through imagery centered on nature, connection and continuity.
