Rockville’s Generosity Lights Up Holidays for Community’s Most in Need

February 3, 2026

Rockville’s community warmth and holiday spirit were on display during the 2025 Holiday Drive, with 151 donors donating $42,442.83 in cash to families and people in need throughout November and December.

In-kind, or non-monetary, donations totaled $33,615.

Four-hundred-andfifty-five volunteers donated 1,523 hours of their time. Hundreds of families were helped during the two-month campaign. In November, 549 families and seniors, a total of 1,909 people, were helped with the Holiday Drive’s distribution of food. Families and seniors in need were provided with a $15 grocery store gift card, a box of nonperishable food, a bag of produce and a pie, via an in-person drive-thru pickup at Elwood Smith Community Center or home delivery.

In December, 915 children from 372 families received toys and books for each child 11 and younger, and a $25 Target gift card and books for those aged 12-17. To find out more about Rockville’s annual Holiday Drive and make tax-deductible donations year-round, visit rockvillemd.gov/holidaydrive.
