Surveying to Begin March 2 for Sewer Main Replacement on West and East Argyle Streets
February 17, 2026

The City of Rockville Department of Public Works will begin sanitary sewer improvements in the Argyle Street area. This work is part of the city’s Sewer Rehabilitation and Improvement Program and includes field survey activities to support future design and construction.
The planned improvements include the construction of new and replacement sanitary sewer main along West and East Argyle streets from just east of Maryland Avenue to Monroe Street.
Sewer main projects follow a three-step process: a field survey, design completion and sewer main upgrade construction.
After utilities are marked, city consultant Wallace Montgomery will begin a field survey in and around Argyle Street.
Residents may see consultant crews and vehicles with survey equipment on their street as early as Monday, March 2.
Construction is anticipated to begin later in 2026. A future community meeting will be scheduled during the design phase. Additional advisories will be mailed prior to the meeting and the start of construction.
