Why the Proven Benefits of Supplements Are So Important Today 

Learn how proper nutrition and a healthy lifestyle can help prevent many diseases, including heart disease, cancer and Type 2 diabetes. This session explains how supplements support long-term health by providing essential nutrients that help cells function at their best. Presented by Gary Mendelson, a nutritionist and audiologist, and Herbert Coya from the Mendelson Group.

AARP Driver’s Safety Program 

Refresh driving skills, learn safe strategies and review rules of the road. The course covers age-related physical changes and how to adjust driving habits. Some Maryland insurers may offer premium discounts for completion. Includes four hours of instruction and a lunch break. Arrive 15 minutes early for registration. Cash or check only.

Better Breather’s Club 

Educational program focused on respiratory issues and practical tips for maintaining good health. Walk-ins welcome. 

1:30-2:30 p.m. Thursday, March 19. Free. 

Unlocking Thyroid Health 

Learn how the thyroid affects energy, mood, weight and overall health. This session covers common thyroid conditions, diagnosis, treatment options and simple tips to support thyroid health. Includes a Q&A session with a Johns Hopkins medical expert.

Senior Center to Host Mobile Market 

The Mobile Market returns from 2-4 p.m. Thursday, March 26, to the back parking lot of the Rockville Senior Center, 1150 Carnation Drive. 

The Capital Area Food Bank Mobile Market provides fresh produce to local communities in need, free of charge. Intended to support members of the community at risk of hunger, there are no income requirements or other qualifications — food is provided to anyone who attends a Mobile Market distribution.
