City Seeks Community Feedback to Build Diversity Strategic Plan
April 1, 2026
Rockville will be asking community partners and residents for feedback as it works to develop a five-year strategic plan focused on justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.
The plan will guide the city’s efforts to ensure equitable access to services, strengthen community partnerships and identify opportunities to better serve diverse populations.
An assessment phase is underway through April that includes a series of external listening sessions designed to gather feedback from community stakeholders on experiences with city services, barriers to access and opportunities for collaboration.
Input from these sessions will be combined with feedback gathered from city employees to create a comprehensive assessment of practices, policies and community needs. This combined approach will provide a more complete understanding of where gaps exist and where progress is being made.
Strategic planning will continue through spring, with a final plan expected to be presented to the Mayor and Council in June.
Additional information about opportunities to take part in the sessions will be shared through the city’s website, e-newsletters and social media.
