Surveying to Begin Week of July 13 for Water Main Rehabilitation Along Rockville Pike

June 24, 2026

A map shows a highlighted section of Rockville Pike running northeast-southwest near Woodmont Overlook, bordered by residential neighborhoods and shopping centers.

Survey crews will begin field surveying the week of Monday, July 13, in neighborhoods along Rockville Pike between West Edmonston Drive and Congressional Lane as part of Rockville’s Water Main Rehabilitation Program.

Residents may see survey crews, vehicles and equipment on their streets during this work. The field survey is the first step in planned water main improvements. Water main projects are completed in three phases: field survey, design and construction.

After underground utilities are marked, Hazen and Sawyer and its subconsultant, Charles P. Johnson and Associates, will conduct the survey on behalf of the City of Rockville’s Department of Public Works.

Construction for this project is planned for Fiscal Year 2027, which begins July 1, 2026.

If you have questions, contact Gina Arnett, project manager, at 240-314-8517 or garnett@rockvillemd.gov.

A neighborhood advisory about the upcoming surveying was mailed to addresses near the project area. The city will mail another neighborhood advisory before construction begins.
