Nonprofits, Housing Providers Can Apply for Block Grant Funding

The City of Rockville is accepting applications for Fiscal Year 2028 Community Development Block Grant funding. The federal CDBG program supports housing and community development projects that benefit low- and moderate-income households and neighborhoods. Sample projects include: 

  • Window and storm window replacement 
  • Bathroom and kitchen renovations 
  • Water heater replacement 
  • Smoke and carbon monoxide detector installation 

Eligible nonprofit organizations and housing providers are encouraged to apply. Applicants should review the program guidelines, attend the optional virtual technical assistance session from 10-11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16 and submit an online application by 5 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 1. 

The Mayor and Council will hold a public hearing on community needs for CDBG funding at their Monday, Sept. 14 meeting.
