Prost! Raise a Stein at Rocktobierfest

Rocktobierfest returns to Rockville Town Center on Saturday, Sept. 26, for a Bavarian-themed bash.

The eighth edition of the free festival, from 11 a.m.-5 p.m., will include two stages of live music, food, beer sales by local breweries and a merchant shopping area. This popular event attracts nearly 8,000 people each year. 

As part of this year’s celebrations, the city will bury an America250 time capsule preserving memories, Rockville history and messages for future generations. The time capsule will remain sealed for 50 years and be opened in 2076 as part of the nation’s 300th anniversary celebration. 

Bavarian bands taking to the stages include D’ Potomactaler Stamm, Alt Washingtonia and Rockville German Band. 

Featured beverage vendors include 7 Locks Brewing, BabyCat Brewery, Clear Skies Meadery, Crooked Crab Brewing Co., Denizens Brewing Co., Lone Oak Farm Brewing Co., Saints Row Brewing, Silver Branch Brewing Company, Third Hill Brewing Co., Waredaca Brewing Co. and World of Beer. 

The festival site is located next to Courthouse Square Park in Rockville Town Center and is within walking distance of the Rockville Metro station. Free parking locations include the County Council Office Building on Fleet Street and the City Hall lot at 111 Maryland Ave.
