Shape a New Artwork and Tour the City’s Public Art

Rockville’s community can help shape “Shared Passage,” an 18-by-25-foot sculpture planned for David Scull Park, and explore artwork already on display in The Square in Rockville Town Center during workshops and walking tours in October.
CJRDesign will host two workshops focused on the final design elements of “Shared Passage.” Community feedback will help guide details such as the arrangement of the sculpture’s colorful acrylic panels and arches, and a solar lighting option. The 4.1-acre park is located at 1133 First St. The sculpture will be installed at the entrance of the park to welcome and engage visitors.
The workshops are open to the public:
- 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7 at Rockville Housing Enterprises, 1201 First St.
- 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8 at the Pump House, 401 S. Horners Lane.
Pizza and beverages will be provided. Registration is required for the Oct. 8 workshop as space at the Pump House is limited.

Tour The Square’s Public Art
Arts and culture program staff will lead walking tours of the city’s public art collection in The Square in Rockville Town Center.
Tours will be offered at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturdays, Oct. 3 and 10.
Each tour will last about an hour and follow sidewalks through The Square.
