Keeping Rockville Moving When Heavy Rain Hits
Keeping Rockville Moving When Heavy Rain Hits
October 1, 2026
How should Rockville prepare for more intense rain events and related flooding?
The answer affects everyone. Flooding can make travel more difficult, disrupt businesses and services, and damage roads, parks, streams and public infrastructure throughout the community.
The Flood Resiliency Master Plan is entering its next phase. Explore findings from flood modeling and community input, learn about potential actions and help identify Rockville’s priorities.
Community members with firsthand flooding experience, concerns about neighborhood risks or an interest in Rockville’s future are invited to help shape the plan.
A virtual information session will be held 7-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22.
An in-person workshop will be held 1-3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway.
