Games, tribute acts, classic tracks and murder will entertain you throughout October and beyond in Rockville.

Rockville Little Theatre Presents “The Game’s Afoot”

8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 2 and Saturday, Oct. 3; matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 4.

Ken Ludwig’s mystery comedy play follows a Broadway star known for portraying Sherlock Holmes. When a murder occurs during a holiday party at his mansion, he assumes the role of detective in real life. Twists, turns and laughs abound as the theatrical detective attempts to solve the crime. 

Directed by Laura W. Andruski. 

Tickets cost $24 for adults and $22 for students and seniors. Group pricing is available by calling the box office.

The interPLAY Orchestra Presents “Time of Our Lives”

This 36-year-old ensemble provides performance opportunities for adult musicians with intellectual, developmental and other disabilities. More than 90 musicians with and without disabilities take part in a concert celebrating collaborative and inclusive music-making. 

The program will include works by U2, Olivia Dean, Prince, Duke Ellington, Antonin Dvorak, Phil Collins, Herbie Hancock, Dolly Parton, Ozzy Osbourne and others. The show features loud music. Earplugs are available on request. 

General admission tickets cost $20.

Silver Springs brings Fleetwood Mac’s magic roaring back to life with a night that feels like stepping straight into the band’s golden era. Be swept up in iconic harmonies, unmistakable energy and the timeless, generation-defining songs, including “Dreams,” “Go Your Own Way,” “Landslide” and “Don’t Stop.”

Rockville Musical Theatre Presents “Caroline, or Change” 

7:30 p.m. Oct. 31 and Nov. 6, 7, 13 and 14; 2 p.m. Nov. 1, 8 and 15. 

Set in 1963, the Tony-nominated musical “Caroline, or Change” follows Caroline, an African American maid working for a white family in Lake Charles, Louisiana, as the country undergoes sweeping social change. 

A single mother of four, Caroline develops an unlikely friendship with Noah, the young son of the Gellman family. When Noah’s stepmother, Rose, tells Caroline she may keep the money Noah leaves in his pockets, Caroline initially refuses. But with her own children in need of food, clothing and shoes, the arrangement forces her to confront questions of money, race and change. 

Written by Tony Kushner, with music by Jeanine Tesori, the musical blends blues, gospel and traditional Jewish melodies. 

The Friday, Nov. 6 performance will feature American Sign Language interpretation.

Murder at the Mansion Presents “Funeral for a Gangster”

Celebrate 100 years of Glenview Mansion with a mob funeral and a missing fortune. 

Welcome to 1926 and step into the roaring ’20s at the secret sendoff for mob boss Vito “The Gut” Marzetti at Ruby’s Place, the city’s hottest speakeasy. The family’s in mourning — sort of. Vito’s widow is hunting for his hidden fortune and guests might be the key to unlocking his final, deadly secret. 

Patrons dressing in roaring ’20s-themed costumes have the chance to win a prize. 

Recommended for ages 15 and older. Presented in partnership with A Taste For Murder Productions. 

Tickets cost $40; $35 for students and seniors. Tickets and optional buffet are $70; $65 for students and seniors.

“Calligraphic Journeys,” celebrating the Washington Calligraphers Guild’s 50th anniversary, will be on display Oct. 11- Nov. 25 at Glenview Mansion Art Gallery, at Rockville Civic Center Park, 603 Edmonston Drive. 

Meet the artists from 1:30-3:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 11. The event is free and open to the public. 

The gallery, located on the second floor of Glenview Mansion, is open 9 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and closed for official city holidays and private events. Admission is free, and the gallery can be accessed by stairs and an elevator.
