The Lincoln Park Community Center is approximately 12,500 square feet and serves the public through a variety of classes, rentals, and special events, providing more than 600 programs throughout the year, including afterschool, sports, fitness, and more. The building also hosts several community gatherings and meetings each year. The community center opened in 1970, and additions were completed in 1977, 1987, and 1999. The facility has adapted to meet the needs and wants of the growing community as its needs have become more diverse.
This project funds the renovation of most of the main level of the community center, including selective demolition, new finishes, restroom upgrades, ADA accessibility and infrastructure upgrades, and reconfiguration of programmable space for activities such as out-of-school time programs, drop-in activities, community gatherings, and classes. New features include a STEM classroom and an accessible fitness room on the main floor.
The renovations began in May 2025, with anticipated completion in spring 2026. The community center will be closed to the public from June 18, 2025 through completion.
