Community Meeting Scheduled for Argyle Street Sewer Relocation Design
May 1, 2026
Rockville’s Department of Public Works will host a public meeting to discuss the design of sewer improvements along Argyle Street. The project will relocate an existing sanitary sewer main to improve reliability and maintenance access.
The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 26, at the Elwood Smith Community Center, 601 Harrington Road.
The goal is to present the 30% design concept, review anticipated construction impacts and gather community input to consider as the design is refined.
Work includes installing new sewer mains and manholes along West Argyle Street and Maryland Avenue, safely abandoning the existing sewer under buildings, and reconnecting existing service laterals to the new system.
Road closures may affect East and West Argyle streets, with construction activity in the right-of-way and short-term restrictions to access. Construction is expected to begin later this year.

As an alternative to attending, comments can be submitted by Friday, May 29 to the project manager below.
