Back on the Lawn: Rockville’s Movies in the Parks Returns in July

Four Movies. Four Weeks. Four Neighborhood Parks.

Mark your summer entertainment calendar for Rockville’s free outdoor Movies in the Parks, on the big screen at neighborhood parks on Thursday evenings from July 30 to Aug. 20. 

Bring chairs, blankets, food and nonalcoholic beverages and enjoy four family-friendly movies at four different neighborhood parks throughout the city. Movies begin at dusk, about 8 p.m. 

Closed captioning will be turned on for all movie screenings. All movies are rated PG. 

The 2026 schedule is: 

  • “An American Tail: Fievel Goes West” on July 30, at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park, 1800 Piccard Drive. 
  • “Goat” on Aug. 6, at Montrose Park, 451 Congressional Lane. 
  • “Freakier Friday” on Aug. 13, at Fallsgrove Park, 700 Fallsgrove Drive. 
  • “Turning Red” on Aug. 20, at Isreal Park, 357 Frederick Ave.
