Request Police Records

About Request Police Records

The Rockville City Police Department shares jurisdiction with multiple law enforcement agencies in Montgomery County. Rockville police officers respond only to incidents that occur within Rockville city limits. Use our address finder at www.rockvillemd.gov/services to determine if an incident occurred within the city limits.

Community members can request police records online or in person at the Rockville City Police Station between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Access to law enforcement records is provided in compliance with the Maryland Public Information Act. Under MPIA law, certain information must be redacted from law enforcement records before they are released to the public. The City of Rockville is required to verify that the person requesting a law enforcement record is an involved party. Government-issued photo identification is required to obtain all police records. If you would like to request a record and are not an involved party, please visit the Submit a Public Information Request page.
