Safety Talks and Child Identification Program

About Safety Talks and Child Identification Program

Two police officers and a woman stand under a "Rockville City Police" tent at an outdoor event, with information materials displayed on a table in front of them.

The Rockville City Police Department offers safety talks and the Child Identification Program to the community. To request either service, contact Cpl. Ronnie Crowe at 240-314-8974 or rcrowe@rockvillemd.gov.

Safety Talks

The RCPD’s community services officer frequently speaks to groups about personal and home safety. Past audiences have included Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts of America, older adults, schoolchildren of all ages, and civic groups.

Child Identification Program

The RCPD believes crime prevention should also include kids. The Child Identification Program allows parents to keep identification records for their children, including fingerprints, a current photo, and a growth chart, all stored on a form provided by the RCPD.

With the increasing number of crimes being committed on juveniles, this is a valuable resource for parents. The program is available at community events, police station tours, civic group meetings, and by request at the police station.
