Fire inspections are required for construction projects, licensed facilities, and fireworks.

Fire Inspections for Construction Projects

Fire inspections are required for any construction projects that include a Fire Code plan review or require a Fire Protection Permit. Building permits will include a Fire Code plan review comments sheet or note that a field inspection by the fire marshal is required. For more information, refer to the Fire Protection Systems Inspection Procedures.

  1. Log in to MyGovernmentOnline (MGO).
  2. Request an inspection at least one week before your desired inspection date.
  3. Once your request is processed, a fire inspector will confirm the date and time based on availability.

Fire Inspections for Licensed Facilities

Fire inspections are required for initial or renewed licenses for daycare homes and centers, nursing homes, automotive repair facilities, and other licensed facilities. All fire inspections for licensed facilities must be requested through MGO Connect.

  1. Log in to MGO Connect or create an account.
  2. Select “Apply for a Fire License,” then choose “New Licensed Facility Application.”
  3. Enter the facility address.
  4. Enter contact information for the applicant and property owner. (Note: The applicant is the person completing the application.)
  5. Complete the questionnaire. (Note: No documents need to be submitted.)
  6. Submit the application.
  7. Your application will be reviewed for completeness and once accepted, fees are assessed and an invoice is issued.
  8. After payment, you will receive instructions to schedule your inspection.
  9. A fire inspector will contact you to confirm the date and time.

Fees must be paid before the inspection via credit card or ACH through MGO Connect. Cash and mailed payments are not accepted. Inspections will not be conducted without payment.

  • Home daycare: $57.75
  • Daycare center or nursery: $115.25
  • Board and care (up to 16 residents): $115.25
  • Board and care (16 or more residents): $230
  • Private educational facility: $230
  • Other licensed facilities: $115.25

Fireworks Inspections

All fireworks inspections must be requested through MGO Connect at least 30 days before the event.

  1. Log in to MGO Connect or create an account.
  2. Select “Apply for a Fire License,” then choose “Fireworks.”
  3. Enter the event address.
  4. Enter contact information for the applicant and property owner. (Note: The applicant is the person completing the application.)
  5. Complete the questionnaire and upload required documents.
  6. Submit the application.
  7. Your application will be reviewed for completeness and once accepted, fees are assessed and an invoice is issued.
  8. After payment, you will receive instructions to schedule your inspection.
  9. A fire inspector will contact you to confirm the date and time.
