Hire an Off-Duty Police Officer

Rockville police officers are available to provide security or traffic control for private events. Individuals or organizations typically hire off-duty officers for a visible, uniformed police presence or traffic control at planned events.

Officers are only available for events within Rockville city limits. Use our address finder at www.rockvillemd.gov/services to determine if your event is within Rockville city limits.

The cost is $80 per hour per officer, which includes liability insurance, vehicle, fuel, and officer overtime. Cancellations must be made at least four hours in advance to avoid full payment liability.

Submit the request form below to schedule an off-duty police officer. The Rockville City Police Department will email a confirmation of availability. An invoice will be sent after the event, and payment is due within 30 days of receiving the invoice.
