A Safe Speed Program Evaluation has demonstrated the effectiveness of this initiative, and the city remains committed to keeping Rockville a safe and healthy place to live and work.

The fine for a speed camera ticket is $40. A $2 convenience fee applies when paying by credit or debit card. No points are added to your driving record.

New West Gude Drive Speed Camera

As part of its ongoing effort to reduce speeding in Rockville neighborhoods, the Rockville City Police Department has deployed a speed monitoring system near 55 W. Gude Drive. The portable camera unit began monitoring the area around April 28, 2025, with citations issued after a 30-day grace period for vehicles exceeding the posted speed limit by 12 mph or more.
