About Request a Recycling or Trash Cart
Rockville residents are provided recycling and trash carts for weekly curbside collection, available in 45-, 65-, and 95-gallon sizes. The carts are wheeled and have attached, flip-open lids. Residents are responsible for maintaining the carts and must return them to the city upon moving out.
Due to high demand, residents are limited to one cart exchange per year. A reasonable effort to locate lost or missing carts must be made before a replacement is issued.
To request or exchange a recycling or trash cart, complete the form below. Your request will be acknowledged by email within 1-2 business days. Cart delivery may take up to four weeks depending on staff availability. If requesting an exchange or replacement, leave your cart out until 3 p.m. on your collection day. Staff will pick up the old cart and deliver the new one. Carts will not be delivered to vacant homes.

Replacement recycling and trash carts are temporarily unavailable due to an unexpected supply disruption. If you need a replacement recycling or trash cart, complete the form below to join the waitlist.
Requests will be fulfilled in the order received as shipments from the new manufacturer arrive. Delivery delays of 1–3 months are possible.
A limited number of carts are reserved for residents of newly constructed homes who do not currently have a cart. If you are moving into a newly constructed home and need a cart, please call 240-314-8568 for assistance.
