Help Your Child Become a TERRIFIC Kid and Earn a Free Bike!
Is your child in grades 1-5 and loves adventure? This is their chance to become a TERRIFIC kid and cruise around town on a refurbished set of new wheels – for free!
The TERRIFIC Challenge is a fun and rewarding program that recognizes students in Rockville who demonstrate Trustworthiness, Earnestness, Respect, Responsibility, Involvement, Fairness, Industriousness, and Care.
Here’s how it works:
Your child completes 6 out of 16 exciting, good deeds, like volunteering at a local charity, helping a neighbor, or keeping a clean school environment.
Each good deed helps them become a more TERRIFIC citizen!
Once they complete their challenges, they’ll be invited to a special event to claim their free bike and helmet!
Plus, they’ll be recognized for their TERRIFIC achievements by the Mayor and Council!
This is more than just a free bike – it’s a chance for your child to:
- Build character and positive values.
- Give back to the community.
- Make a difference in the world around them.
- Earn a sense of accomplishment and pride.
- Get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors!

Important Dates
- Jan. 20, 2026: Registration opens for TERRIFIC Bike 2026. Open to 80 participants.
- Feb. 14, 2026: Registration closes.
- Late February 2026: Participants will be notified if selected for the program.
- March 1, 2026: Participants start good deeds.
- April 30, 2026: Deadline to complete good deeds and mailed form postmarked by.
- May 16, 2026: Awardees will receive bikes.
