Youth and Family Counseling

About Youth and Family Counseling

The City of Rockville offers school- and community-based counseling for Rockville residents who are uninsured or unable to access counseling on their own. Services are available based on eligibility screening. Counseling is provided by a licensed professional counselor, a licensed master’s-level social worker, or a master’s-level clinical intern under supervision.

The program focuses on early intervention and prevention for school-age children, using a short-term model of 12 sessions. Counseling is available by appointment only through the Community Services Division. Options include individual and group sessions, with guardian participation strongly encouraged.
