Rockville Senior Center offers classes, courses, and workshops all year long to keep your mind and body active. Come to one of our classes and learn a new skill, stay active with a fitness group, or meet with fellow book lovers to discuss classic literature. From woodworking to technology, we offer classes for every lifelong learner.

Rockville Senior Center offers different membership levels to meet a wide range of needs.

Fall 2026 Adults 60+ Recreation and Services Guide

Registration opens Tuesday, Aug. 11 at 8:30 a.m. for Rockville Senior Center members and City of Rockville residents, and Thursday, Aug. 13 at 8:30 a.m. for general registration.

Make the most of autumn by exploring new interests, meeting new friends, and enjoying everything our fall senior programs have to offer. Celebrate a variety of occasions such as Hallowine and Hispanic Festival, Mindful Moments wellness event, and our annual Turkey Trot. Travel the world with our new fitness series. Take a trip to Brookville Beer Farm or enjoy “The Donna Summer Musical!”

Summer 2026 Adults 60+ Recreation and Services Guide

Registration opens Tuesday, May 5 at 8:30 a.m. for Rockville Senior Center members and City of Rockville residents, and Thursday, March 7 at 8:30 a.m. for general registration.

Sizzling summer fun alert at Rockville Senior Center! Learn more about a hot topic – “AI” – by taking a course with our technology expert, or about a hot sport – pickleball – new with our sports and fitness department. Take a virtual program and discuss “Summer in the Good Ol’ Days.” Show your Maryland pride and decorate Maryland-themed sugar cookies or discover Montgomery County schools named for famous people during a three-series program. Stay healthy and find out about “Protein: Are You Getting Enough?” or take a virtual program through our Positive Aging Program. At Rockville Senior Center, there’s something for everyone.

Trips

When you travel with the Senior Center, you can relax and leave the driving and parking to us. Travel in the comfort of a chartered bus or in a Rockville Senior Center bus for local adventures. All trips start and end at the Rockville Senior Center.  

Physical Difficulty Scale for Trips  

  1. Walking from bus to seat.  
  2. Walking with seating available.  
  3. Lots of walking and standing with some opportunities to sit.  
  4. Lots of walking.  

Positive Aging Programs

Positive Aging Programs offer unique opportunities to meet fellow seniors and chat about the day, current events, or whatever you like. Programs are free and meet twice a month from 1-2:30 p.m. Must be 60+ or older. Please register online or call 240-314-8800. All programs are held virtually and registrants will be given a link after registration. 

Fitness Programs

The Rockville Senior Center fitness room is dedicated to helping seniors reach their fitness goals through a variety of programs and our fitness room. The fitness room is equipped with many machines such as ellipticals, strength training machines, treadmills, free weights and more. You must be a Rockville Senior Center and fitness member to use the fitness room.

The Rockville Senior Center fitness staff include certified personal trainers, fitness center monitors, and certified fitness instructors.

A $15 basic equipment training is required for new members regardless of fitness skills and is offered by appointment only. Members that have allowed their membership to expire more than two years are required to repeat the training.

Let your fitness buddy help guide you through the equipment. Register at the front desk and your fitness buddy will contact you to make an appointment. Your buddy will work with you for a 30-minute appointment or one hour. This is not a personal training session. Must be a fitness room member. This is done by appointment only. 

Designed for individuals transitioning from physical therapy to independent exercise, this specialized fitness program, guided by certified trainers with rehabilitation experience, offers customized fitness plans tailored to recovery progress, fitness levels, and personal goals. Its holistic approach focuses on strength training, cardiovascular health, flexibility, and balance while fostering a supportive community for shared experiences and motivation. Regular progress tracking and flexible scheduling promote engagement and commitment, aiming to minimize the risk of reinjury while encouraging a lifelong dedication to fitness and wellness. The cost for residents and non-residents who are not Rockville Senior Center members includes a six-month Rockville Senior Center membership and fitness membership.

Be evaluated by a nationally certified personal trainer who designs an individualized program based on your needs. Register at the front desk of the Rockville Senior Center and you will be contacted by one of our trainers to schedule an appointment.  

Some Saturday appointments are available.  

Personal training packages include a fitness assessment to assist in identifying your fitness requirements and objectives. Must be a fitness room member.  

Get in shape before your surgery and get back on your feet in less time. Our pre-hab specialist helps you recover faster by developing and implementing an exercise plan specific to your needs. This program includes eight, individual one-hour sessions with the trainer. This program must begin no later than six weeks prior to scheduled surgery and requires medical clearance from your doctor. Must be a fitness room member.  

Have you completed your rehabilitation program with your doctor or physical therapist? Our post-rehab specialist works together with your medical professionals to develop a safe and effective fitness plan. Includes eight individual one-hour sessions with the trainer. This program requires medical clearance from your doctor or physical therapist. Must be a fitness room member.
