Join the Climate Solutions Speaker Series on Thursday, April 16 at 7 p.m. for a virtual webinar featuring Lisa Kuder from the Maryland Native Plants Program at the University of Maryland Extension.

A dense patch of yellow wildflowers grows beneath tall trees in a wooded area, with grass and buildings visible in the background.

Attendees will learn how to use the new Maryland Native Plant Guide for the Piedmont Region to select the right native plants for their property and explore helpful resources.

The webinar will also highlight resources for finding certified native plant nurseries and retailers and explore how native plants are becoming more widely available as garden centers, nurseries and suppliers respond to growing demand.

The Maryland Native Plants Program is a partnership between the UMD Extension, the Maryland departments of agriculture and natural resources, and the Maryland Native Plant Society. The mission is to promote the sale and use of plants native to Maryland, and to increase awareness about the importance and benefits of native plants.
