Let the Swim Center Help You be a Better Triathlon Swimmer

October 29, 2018

Swimming is often the weakest event faced by triathletes, which is why the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center offers two swimming programs geared specifically to the open-water component of a triathlon.

The center’s certified coaches understand the challenges of open-water swimming and the need to swim efficiently. Beginners to world-class triathletes can take part. Register with the course numbers listed below at www.rockvillemd.gov/registration.

Triathlon Swim Skills: Designed so athletes develop a more efficient freestyle stroke and prepare for open-water swimming. 8:05-8:55 a.m. Sundays, from Oct. 28-Dec. 16; course #6259. The cost is $64 for members, $72 for nonmembers.

Triathlete Swim Endurance: For athletes preparing for Olympic to Ironman distance races or open-water swims. 7-8:30 p.m. Sundays, from Oct. 28-Dec. 16; course #6561. The cost is $95 for members, $107 for nonmembers.
