Labor Day Closures and Collection Schedule Changes
Rockville City Hall and some city facilities will be closed Monday, Sept. 7, in observance of Labor Day. Recycling and trash collections will occur one day later than usual throughout the week. Click here to learn more.
Rockville’s annual Fall Tree Giveaway opens for online registration at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1.
To register, visit rockvillemd.gov/treegiveaway. Registrants will be able to pick up their trees from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Taft Center, 6 Taft Court.
Trees will be available to Rockville residents only.
Preregistration is required.
Limit of one tree per household.
Six species are expected to be available:
Allegheny serviceberry (Amelanchier laevis)
American hornbeam (Carpinus caroliniana)
Carolina rose (Rosa carolina)
Common ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius)
Eastern redbud (Cercis canadensis)
Red chokeberry (Photinia pyrifolia)
This list is subject to change based on nursery availability. Species preferences cannot be guaranteed.
