Walktober to Feature Walk and Roll and Candlelight Vigil

Join the Rockville Pedestrian Advocacy Committee, city staff and elected officials for a neighborhood walk and roll and candlelight vigil from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, as part of Walktober.

Meet at the entrance to Twinbrook Community Recreation Center, 12920 Twinbrook Parkway. The approximately 1.25-mile route will follow sidewalks and neighborhood streets in Twinbrook before returning to the recreation center.

Participants will learn about pedestrian initiatives, city projects and the city’s Vision Zero initiative to eliminate traffic-related deaths and serious injuries. A candlelight vigil following the walk will remember victims of traffic crashes.

The event replaces the committee’s monthly meeting.
