Tennis Courts and Programs

About Tennis Courts and Programs

Tennis is a racket sport that can be played individually against a single opponent (singles) or between two teams of two players each (doubles). Players use a tennis racket to strike a tennis ball into the opponent’s court.

Rockville currently has 18 tennis courts at our public parks and community centers. We offer a variety of tennis classes for youth, adults, and adult/child. Private lessons are available upon request.

Open Play at Community Centers

The Lincoln Park Community Center, Thomas Farm Community Center, and Twinbrook Community Recreation Center offer open gym schedules featuring tennis and many other sports. A daily or annual membership is required.

Outdoor Tennis Courts

Courts are open from dawn to dusk and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. City recreation programs have priority over the use of the courts, so some may be reserved for class use and closed to the public. Lighted courts close at 10 p.m.
