The Teens and Adventure Sports Division provides youth and teens with fun indoor and outdoor activities throughout the year, striving to nurture community connections and provide a space for youth and teens to be themselves and spend time with their friends.
Teen Programs

Teens on the Go (Ages 11-16)
This fun summer program is for youth entering grades 6-11, held Monday-Friday, June 29–Aug. 14. Teens are picked up and dropped off daily at one location to attend various trips and events. This summer, we have new and exciting trips planned every day. Your child will be out and about on fun, safe, and adventurous trips. Payment plans and financial assistance are available. One week before each trip, an itinerary with specific information will be emailed to each participant.
Registration opens Tuesday, Feb. 10, at 8:30 a.m. for City of Rockville residents, and Thursday, Feb. 12, at 8:30 a.m. for general registration.

Future Leaders Camp (Ages 13-15)
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure at the Future Leaders Camp! This is your chance to dive headfirst into an incredible journey packed with fun and excitement while honing vital leadership skills.
Join us for interactive workshops, thrilling games, and exhilarating activities designed to prepare you for volunteering or that first job. But that’s not all! Get ready for amazing team-building excursions and earn your First Aid/CPR/AED certification—all included in this action-packed experience!
Imagine making new friends and creating lifelong memories while racking up to 30 SSL hours of valuable experience. This is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for—don’t let it slip away! Get ready to shine and make the most of your summer!

Leaders in Training Program (Ages 14-16)
A Leader in Training is a volunteer aged 14 to 16, trained and assigned to a summer campsite. The LIT’s role is to assist the summer camp staff in daily program operations. LITs will have the opportunity to work in the areas of games, sports, arts and crafts, and many other recreational activities. To become a LIT, you must attend and complete the Future Leaders Camp. Once you complete the camp, you will receive an invitation the following summer to join the LIT program.

Into the Metaverse
Come and join us in the virtual world as we take a big leap into the metaverse. Our camps offer a fun and educational experience for kids to learn about science and programming, along with the opportunity to play sports in an immersive reality. Each camp also includes outdoor physical activities, craft projects, and field trips to the pool. We can’t wait to see you there!

Outdoor Adventure Sports

Friday Night Ski Club (Grades 6-12)
Head to Ski Liberty in the comfort of a coach bus every Friday night for five weeks. Trip dates are Jan. 9, 16, 23, 30, and Feb. 6, with Feb. 13 as a rain date. The fee includes supervision and bus transportation. Ski packages must be purchased directly through Liberty Mountain Resorts. Pickup and drop-off are at Robert Frost Middle School. The bus leaves the school at 3:30 p.m. and returns at 11 p.m. Spots fill up fast.

Rock-Ventures (Ages 8-15)
Want your kids to spend time outside? Sign them up for our daylong Rock-Ventures program as we take a trip around Maryland with rock climbing, mountain biking, ropes courses, and more! The program runs on days when Montgomery County Public Schools are closed. Participants are broken up into two groups based on age and the transportation provided.

After School Fishing Club (Ages 8-14)
Tighten those lines and get hooked on fishing! Learn the basics of freshwater fishing using both artificial and live bait. Try out different methods and tackle to catch a variety of fish! We meet at Rockville Skate Park, and participants are driven to the Lake Needwood Mansion in a city van. No prior fishing experience is necessary to participate. All fishing tackle and bait are provided.
The program runs during the spring and fall seasons.
Skate Programs

Rockville Skate Camp (Ages 7-14)
Learn to skateboard or improve your skills at Rockville Skate Park! Join Rockville’s crew as you learn to push, ride, ollie, kick-flip, grind, and drop in. After a great skateboarding session, cool off for a few hours at the Rockville Swim and Fitness Center.
Skate park etiquette and safety are a priority. Skaters must bring a skateboard, helmet, knee and elbow pads, wrist guards, water, and a snack. The camp is weather-dependent. Any missed dates will be made up on Fridays.

Skateboard and Rollerblading Group and Private Lessons (Ages 6+)
Learn how to skate at Rockville Skate Park! Learn the basics or practice your tricks with experienced Rockville skaters. Lessons will be 50 minutes once a week for five weeks.
