About Rentals at Rockville Swim and Fitness Center

The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center offers bright, flexible indoor spaces for parties, meetings, and group gatherings. Rooms overlook the woods of Welsh Park and the outdoor pools and include access to a kitchenette with a microwave, refrigerator, and sink.

Two adjoining rooms may be rented together or separately and can accommodate 50-100 guests. Features include a wall of windows, wood floors, and direct access to the outdoor pools.

Rental Overview

Information on summer rentals (May – September), birthday party packages, and day-of party admissions is available April 1. Room rentals for the summer season open April 1.

  • Reservations must be made at least two weeks in advance and require a deposit.
  • Cancellations require two weeks’ notice and are subject to a $15 withdrawal fee.
  • Decorations, food, and nonalcoholic beverages are permitted.
  • Outdoor space is not reservable and is first-come, first-served.
  • Indoor renters may use outdoor facilities during their visit.

Availability

Availability varies. Visit rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter for current hours and special dates with limited availability.

Rooms are not available on:

  • Memorial Day weekend
  • Weekend after Memorial Day
  • First weekend in June
  • Juneteenth
  • Independence Day
  • Labor Day weekend

Rentals, Parties, and Group Admissions

Birthday party rentals include:

  • Two hours of room use
  • Pool admission for 30 guests
  • Tables and chairs
  • Support from a staff member

A $200 refundable deposit is required. Parties must be scheduled for a minimum of two hours. Party times are typically available from 12:30 – 7:30 p.m. A printable reservation form is also available.

Customers are encouraged to request a birthday party reservation to ensure space and staff support. Groups that choose not to make a reservation may visit during normal public swim hours in the summer (11 a.m. – 8 p.m. on weekdays and noon – 8 p.m. on weekends).

Unreserved group events do not include reserved space or staff assistance and are subject to the Day-of Birthday Party / Group Event Admission Policy. This policy does not apply to camps or daycare groups, or to individuals or families paying daily admission or using a membership.

The event host must provide a list of guests for whom they will pay admission. Complete the Day-of Birthday Party / Group Event List in advance and bring it on the day of your visit, or complete it at the outdoor admission booth before guests enter the facility. Include each guest’s first and last name. Guests not on the list must pay admission upon entry.

Reservation requests are accepted for camps, daycares, and other organized groups to visit during the summer season. Discounts are available for prepaid groups. Active, uniformed adult staff in prepaid groups are admitted free. Review the Prepaid Admission Program Packet for more information and a printable reservation form.

Pools are not available for private parties. Rentals may be available for large groups, such as schools, outside normal operating hours. For rates and availability, contact Debbie Bouwkamp at 240-314-8756 or dbouwkamp@rockvillemd.gov.  

Meeting rentals include room use, tables, and chairs. A $100 refundable deposit is required for reservation.
