The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center is a full-service fitness and recreation facility. Conveniently located near Rockville's Town Center, the facility features two indoor and three outdoor pools along with a fitness and exercise room.

News and Highlights

Outdoor Fitness Pool to open on May 18 - Outdoor Complex to open for the season on May 25! 
The weather has finally caught up to the calendar and the water is finally ready to host our dedicated outdoor swimmers in the Outdoor Fitness Pool.  Therefore we're happy to make the pool available to lap swimmers on a brief "Pre-Pre-Summer Schedule".  The rest of the Outdoor Complex will open as scheduled on Saturday, May 25.  Please remember that the Swim and Fitness Center operates on a "Pre-Summer Schedule" from May 25 through the last full day of Montgomery County Public Schools (June 13). 

Swim and Fitness Center to host Welcome to Summer Mini-Meet on Sunday May 19: eOn Sunday, May 19, the Swim and Fitness Center will be hosting the annual Welcome to Summer Mini Meet in the Outdoor Fitness Pool.  Admission is free and partons are welcome to come out and watch.  In the event of thunderstorms or very cold rainy weather, the meet will be forced to move to the South Indoor Pool.  This would require the cancellation of general recreationals swimming in the South Pool from 1:00 to 4:00 pm.  The North Pool will operatine on a regular schedule regardless of the location for the meet.

New Outdoor Bathhouse to be Dedicated by the Mayor and Council on Saturday, May 25 at 11:00 am 
After years of waiting and a solid 8 months of construction, the new outdoor bathhouse at the Swim and Fitness Center is complete and ready to welcome patrons.  The Mayor and Council of the City of Rockville will officially dedicate the building on Saturday, May 25 starting at 11:00 am.  The dedication ceremony will include a ribbon cutting cermony, plaque unveiling and brief remarks from key individuals.  Swim and Fitness Center staff will conduct short tours of the new bathhouse before opening the Outdoor Complex for the first day of the summer season.

Water Safety Day is May 31 at the Gaithersburg Water Park - Stay Safe at the Pool this Summer! 
As you and your family prepare to beat the heat with a day at the pool this summer, don’t forget to stay safe!  Learn all about staying safe at the pool or lake at Water Safety Day, happening Friday, May 31, from 3:30 to 6:30 p.m. The free swimming event will take place at the Gaithersburg Water Park, 512 S. Frederick Ave., Gaithersburg. Presentations will be available every 30 minutes on such topics as drowning prevention, proper use of life jackets, water rescue skills, skin cancer prevention and even swim lesson evaluations.  Food will be available for purchase. The event is co-sponsored by the City of Rockville, the City of Gaithersburg and Montgomery County

The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center Advisory Committee would love to hear from YOU!  The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center Advisory Committee is a sub-committee of the City of Rockville Recreation and Parks Advisory Board and was created to provide the Swim and Fitness Center staff with feedback from a patron's perspective as well as providing an advocacy for Swim and Fitness Center patrons.  The committee meets regularly on the second Tuesday of each month at 7:30 pm, with time set aside at the beginning of each meeting for any interested party to address the committee.  You can contact the committee at rvfscommitte@gmail.com.

Swim and Fitness Center Advisory Committee Vacancy: There is currently a vacancy on the Swim and Fitness Center Advisory Committee.  The committee is actually a sub-committee of the City of Rockville Recreation and Parks Advisory Board that is tasked with providing the staff with feedback and guidance with respect to all aspects of the operation of the Swim and Fitness Center.  The committee currently meets monthly (on the second Tuesday of the month).  Applications for patrons interested in serving on the committee will be accepted through May 24, 2013.  The committee will then review the applications and make a recommendation to the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board for appointment.  Application forms are available at http://www.rockvillemd.gov/swimcenter/RSFCAC%20application.pdf or at the front desk.

Special Memberships for low income families and individuals are available. Memberships are available at the Swim and Fitness Center for families and individuals who meet prescribed income guidelines. Memberships cost $25 for a family or $15 for an individual. Once approved, these members pay a discounted daily admission fee of $1.00 for adults and $0.50 for children ages 17 and under. Triathlon Training
The Rockville Swim and Fitness Center has begun a special training program for triathletes. Participants of all fitness levels are welcome. USAT Certified Triathlon Coach, Greg Nelson, is an exciting new addition to the center staff and will be offering new training courses.

The Swim and Fitness Center is currently accepting applications for a variety of positions.
