Zoning Division

The Zoning Division maintains the zoning ordinance and zoning map. The Chief of Zoning is authorized to issue administrative and variance approvals for certain types of land use applications, interpret provisions of the zoning ordinance, and issue Zoning Confirmations and Zoning Interpretations.


Planning staff in the Zoning Division prepare amendments to the zoning ordinance, manage consultant work related to large zoning ordinance amendments, determine compliance with the city's adequate public facilities ordinance, and provide staff support to the Planning Commission and Board of Appeals.
